Our Savior Lutheran Academy exists to equip students through a Christ-centered education
Philosophy of Our Savior Lutheran Academy
It is the philosophy of Our Savior Lutheran Academy that each child is a unique and special gift of God, with different needs and abilities. Each child is encouraged to develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually in the Christian faith at his or her own rate.
Our Savior is a Christian community composed of staff, parents, and children with a variety of needs, interests and abilities. The purpose of this entire community is to help children grow in grace, knowledge, skills and love of Jesus. (2 Peter 3:18) These children will model morals, values, and behavior of a life centered in Christ. Teachers, staff and parents work together to guide, teach, empower, support, admonish and mold God’s children.
Parents are instructed to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6) and to bring up children “in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) The Christian home is the ideal setting for the child to grow. We recognize that growth goes beyond the home to encompass the whole body of Christ. In Christian Education it is essential to assist parents in the nurturing of children.
Our academy exists to provide a solid academic foundation for the students. We seek to motivate each child to value learning and excellence in the scholarship. Teachers demonstrate God’s love to each child; they are committed to establishing high academic and moral standards for each child. Students are taught to do their best, because God’s best gift of His Son, Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was given for them on the cross.
