Accreditation
Our Savior Lutheran Academy has dual accreditation through SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and NLSA (National Lutheran School Accreditation). Accreditation is designed to highlight our strengths and continue to make improvements in all areas of our school. Carl Moser, former Executive Director of NLSA, made the following statement:
"These standards are based on three assumptions. First, Lutheran schools believe a high quality program is required of our schools in order to be good stewards of the blessings given by Almighty God. Second, Lutheran schools willingly cooperate with local governmental agencies unless such cooperation inhibits the free sharing of the gospel. Third, Lutheran schools strive to meet and, where possible, exceed all local, state, and federal guidelines for public schools."
The accreditation evaluates the following areas: 1) Philosophy, 2) School & Congregation, 3) School & Community, 4) School Climate, 5) Administration, including School Board and Principal, 6) Professional Personnel, 7) Curriculum, 8) Instruction 9) Instructional Materials & Resources, 10) Student Services, 11) Physical Facilities, and 12) Finance.
